The Waiting a theme that Katharina Ang has captured over the years and marks her earliest work "Omega Couple". Waiting has endless forms and colours, it is a state that we do not  like to show anymore in our busy western world. Visual reflection on these overridden moments of indecisiveness, anxiety, desire or frustration was the starting point for her artistic life.

Since the terror attacks on the undergound in London, where living at the time as a "fresh"mother,  Katharina Ang has begone to explore street photography. While photographing people on the streets in West-London and in these metrostations Katharina Ang asked herself if their posture leaves room for speculations. After the attacs in NewYork, London and then Paris and Berlin, appearance and postures of people became even more stigmaticed.

"... an impartial attitude as a beholder towards a stranger seemed to me impossible, …"

In Perception the artist used the photography and the digital medium  to express her personal answers to the feelings she experienced while photographing  passangers.
Not only the images presented leaves questions on the story telling side, but also the creation is  leaving uncetainty about the medium,  graphic or photography or inkdrawings. A question well liked by the artist underlying in the method the feeling of doubt.

Skinless
At the KHL Katharina Ang has more and more explored the medium of photography and digital work. In cloned and skinless the borders of photography and digital transformation are tested, leaving unfamiliar objects and forms.
Boxes Gossiping:
With 2018  having a Studio, a new way of working became possible. Testing how installation and photography can make a composit the artis started a new form of expression.

In Boxes Gossiping and  Naughty Corners  the classical installation of availabel objects photographed, the metapher  is still used in a cassical way.

But with making specific objects setting up specific enviroments the form of expression becomes more layered and interchangable, Now we have the installation and the photograph, both functioning as a piece of work,

Like in the series The Waiting,  Left Leg where a plastic leg was created, fat sloppy unattractive. placed in an left dusty room. photo, Installation film

In the installation/ game of  Family Constallation Setting the Artist asked visitiors of her Studio to place the stoneedges she made in their preffered familysetting and photographed them for the Visitor.
In the photographs of her own she played with bodyparts she cut out of familyconsultancy magazines, questioning our dreams of perfectness

Naughty Corner:
cloned nature
Nature­ has been cloning organisms for billions of years. ­People have been cloning plants in one way or another. Grass, potatoes, strawberries or even cutting a leave and let it grew into a new plant; all have been cloned over and over. Horticulturists achieved prized orchids and other rare flowers, if we appreciate them or not. ­
The ­main reason to clone plants or animals is to mass produce organisms with desired qualities, a prize-winning tulip or a genetically engineered animal, like Dolly. It is done to suit our wishes.
